Excellent finishing and guaranteed performance

The machine carries out complex cold-plastic forming through the progressive action of three rolls, which enter and then shape a perforated sheet metal blank, limiting scrap material. The interpolated vertical and horizontal movement of the rolls allows fast, precise, and constant flanging, for a high-quality product. Using dedicated tools, the same machine can produce straight, flanged, and flared edges.

Robotic punching cell

The robotic punching cell allows punching of the flange in preparation for its fixing to the external grille. Thanks to the shuttle system and division of the area into separate zones, it is possible to work in pendulum mode, loading and unloading nozzles while another is being processed. The cell can also work in a single zone for the punching of multiple ducts.

Matrix

The openable dies, one for each flanging geometry, are supplied for the production of flanged or flared nozzles; the automated machining cycle allows their opening at the end of machining to allow the automatic extraction of the nozzle. They are fitted with centring pins to facilitate the correct positioning of the sheet metal by the operator. The fixed dies are used to produce straight ducts.

Sheet holder

Each matrix has a blank holder, which is lowered by means of 6 hydraulic cylinders; it holds the sheet in place during flanging operations, which is essential in ensuring the quality of the product.

Loading and unloading system

The support system with guides allows the loading of blanks to form one or more nozzles; the unloading system intervenes at the end of the flanging process, allowing the machined duct to be extracted and positioned for easy unloading by the operator.

Forming roll unit

The roll-holder unit moves along a linear Z-axis with 4 precision guides, gear rack with slanted teeth and brushless motor. The three rolls are connected by bevel gears. Safety is guaranteed by a compensation system.

Recirculating roller screws

The opening and closure of the rolls is managed by a brushless motor, recirculating roller screws and precision guides. Correct lubrication of the mechanical components is centralised and managed through practical replaceable cartridges. These very valuable and high-quality components guarantee the best absorption of the significant loads required for forming.

Recirculating ball screws

The openable dies are opened and closed by means of recirculating ball screws connected to an encoder; opening is fast and precise.

Example processes

The CNC fan nozzle machine produces nozzles with diameter from 200 to 1,050mm, with flange or straight, in different heights. The flanged nozzles can also be punched.
